Setting Up a Facebook Business Page: A Support Guide for Small Businesses
Step 1: Creating Your Page
Personal Facebook Account: You'll need a personal Facebook account to create and manage a Business Page. Don't worry, your personal information won't be publicly visible on your Business Page.
Navigate to Page Creation:
Log in to your personal Facebook account.
Click the "+" (Create) icon in the top right corner.
Select "Page."
Choose a Page Category:
Select "Business or Brand."
Click "Get Started."
Page Information:
Enter your business's name. Be consistent with your other online listings.
Category:
Start typing a category that best describes your business (e.g., "Restaurant," "Retail Store," "Consulting Agency"). Facebook will provide suggestions.
Click "Continue."
Step 2: Adding Profile and Cover Photos
Profile Picture:
This is your business's primary visual representation. Use your logo or a recognizable image.
Cover Photo:
This is the large banner at the top of your page. Use a high-quality image that showcases your brand or products.
Uploading Photos:
Click "Add Profile Picture" and "Add Cover Photo" to upload your images.
Adjust the positioning of your cover photo if needed.

Step 3: Completing Your Page Information
"Edit Page Info":
Click on "Edit Page Info" on the left hand menu.
Description:
Write a concise and compelling description of your business. Highlight your unique selling points and key services.
Contact Information:
Add your phone number, website, and email address.
Location:
Enter your business address if you have a physical location.
Hours:
Specify your business hours.
Price Range:
If applicable, indicate your price range (e.g., $, $$, $$$).
Other Accounts:
Add your Instagram, and other social media accounts.
"More":
Add a privacy policy link, and other important information.
Keep it under 255 characters for optimal display in search results.
If you serve customers in specific areas, add those service areas.
Step 4: Adding a Call-to-Action (CTA) Button
"Add a Button":
Click the blue "Add a Button" button below your cover photo.
Choose a CTA:
Select a CTA that aligns with your business goals (e.g., "Book Now," "Contact Us," "Shop Now," "Learn More").
Link to Destination:
Provide the appropriate link (e.g., your website's booking page, contact form, product page).
Save:
Save the button.
Step 5: Publishing Your First Post
"Write a Post":
Click "Write a Post" on your Page's timeline.
Create Content:
Share an introduction to your business, a special offer, or a relevant piece of content.
Publish:
Click "Share Now."
Include an image or video to enhance engagement.
Step 6: Optimizing Your Page
Custom URL (Vanity URL):
Once you have a certain number of likes, you can create a custom URL (e.g., facebook.com/yourbusinessname).
Go to "Edit Page Info" and then "Username".
Templates and Tabs:
Customize the tabs that appear on your page based on your business type (e.g., "Services," "Shop," "Reviews").
Go to "Settings" then "Templates and Tabs".
Messenger:
Setup automated responses for frequently asked questions.
Reviews:
Encourage customers to leave reviews on your page.
Groups:
Consider linking a facebook group to your business page, to grow a community.

Invite Friends:
Invite your personal Facebook friends to like your page.
Share on Other Platforms:
Share your Facebook Page link on your website, email signature, and other social media profiles.

Respond to comments and messages promptly.
